To use it, you first drill a hole in the damaged screw using the sharp end of the bit, and then flip it around and use the grooved flat side to pull the screw right out.
The only thing you have to remember is to make sure your drill is running in reverse (counterclockwise) for both steps. Even though I read the directions, I accidentally had my drill going clockwise for the drilling step and then thought, “Oh, darn, it doesn’t really work,” when I flipped the bit around and tried to remove the screw (which I had purposely stripped to test the Speed Out!).
Nope, just operator error here. I realized what I’d done and repeated and it worked beautifully.
