I am pretty proud to tell you all that save for one little detour obsessing over fabric plans for our living room, I have retained focus for one entire week on the two big projects I have in the works right now – our kitchen mini-reno and the powder room overhaul.
Impressive, right??
The powder room is thisclose to be being finished. I have crown moulding to hang, the door to paint, and a small wall treatment to finish.

In the past week I painted below the wallpaper, hung a chair rail, and swapped out the recessed light for a dreamy pendant.
It is the most unabashedly colorful, whimsical little room and I completely adore everything about it.
If it were big enough to lie down in, I would sleep in there just so I could wake up to the pretty peacocks watching over me. I can not wait to show you the whole thing, and I have a few tutorials coming up to show you how I pulled it all together.
As for the kitchen, the big news is…the wall is down! The most piped, wired, complicated non-load-bearing wall in the history of walls has been conquered. And I have a clear view into the family room. Take that, wall!
Can you even tell how huge the difference is? It’s kind of tremendous in person, and everything I’d hoped it would be, and (for me, at least) totally justifies all the reworking that had to be done to open it all up.
The new counter is being installed next Tuesday, and hopefully the transom windows will be going up next week too.
Do you like how casually I dropped that in there after all my gushing over transom windows a couple weeks ago?
I’m less cool about it in person and am so excited it’s working out to add this detail. I’m collaborating with a great company to custom-make the transoms and can’t wait to tell you more about them.
That’s it for now! Hope you have a great day!
