We’ve been using our dining room table and chairs in the room for the past couple months. Pretty soon after moving I determined to swallow my inner type-A and invite people into our home, finished or not. And we’ve been absolutely loving having the space to have dinner parties and gather with friends, even if we do have empty rooms, half painted walls, and projects in process.
We’re one step closer to that finished point in the dining room as of last week, when the Jaipur Maroc Pastel Blue rug arrived from Payless Rugs.
It’s the palest shade of seaglass and I love the way the contemporary trellis pattern plays against my very traditional dining table and chairs. It looks rather ridiculous against the saturated green walls but remember that those aren’t going to stay :)
The rug is a 100% wool flat-weave with beautiful texture to it.
I had originally been picturing an oushak-style rug in here, but the thing I love about a very simple, geometric rug with soft colors is that it really opens the door for pattern and texture elsewhere in the room without making it feel like you’re drowning in excess.
I’ve been playing with some ideas for the chair seats, window treatments, and wallpaper and love how many possibilities there are with a softly-colored rug anchoring everything.
I’m also planning a wainscoting treatment for the walls, so will have wainscoting below and wallpaper above.
And I’d be remiss if I didn’t remind you about what makes Payless Rugs a really special online rugs retailer:
- free shipping over $50
- lowest price guarantee
- negotiate your price option
- thousands of rug choices
- easily navigable site
You can see the other rugs I’ve reviewed for Payless HERE and HERE.
