Well, guys, today is the day.
By about noon, Scott and I will have a lot less money in the bank than when we woke up this morning. We won’t actually get the keys to the new house until the end of next week because there have been renters in the house and the current owners needed some time to clear out their things and clean the house up a bit.
But even with that little out-of-the-ordinary situation, things turned out so much less complicated than we thought they were going to be. You might remember that I originally said we were going to have three weeks to kill between the sale of our current house and closing on the new one, but no longer. Just a straightforward move from one house to the next.

So this morning we’ll be signing and signing and signing, then I’ll drop off the dining room table centerpiece for the Concord Holiday House Tour (which is tomorrow, yippee!), run home and feed my girls lunch, do a quick bathroom clean so my parents have a non-disgusting bathroom to use this weekend, bake a half chocolate, half coconut birthday cake with frosting roses and raspberries on top (both my daughters’ requests mashed into one cake), then welcome my parents, hopefully shower, and thank goodness, we are going out for dinner tonight.
Crazy when you already have a PACKED day and feel kind of exhausted by it and it hasn’t even happened yet. I can feel it already.
But all good stuff – new house, my parents visiting, and celebrating my two favorite little girls in the whole wide world. Can’t believe they are just about to turn 3 and 5. Where DOES the time go??
Hope you all have a great weekend!
