If you’ve been with me for a little while, then you know we listed our house for sale in mid-September and that we accepted an offer on it shortly thereafter. We signed the purchase and sale agreement on it the beginning of this month and our buyers had their mortgage approved last week so all is moving along just as it should be.
What’s been going on on the house-buying front has been pretty nutty, and I won’t even go into all the details, but there were a couple weeks when I got very little sleep and felt as close to a nervous breakdown as I ever have.
The great news is that we pretty serendipitously landed on a house in a neighborhood we absolutely love and the house itself is everything we’d hoped to find in our next house. We had an offer accepted on it and we signed the purchase and sale agreement last week. We’ll have three weeks to fill between moving out of our current house and moving into the new house but we’ll split time among family and friends.
We’re planning on some kitchen and bathroom updates/modifications, but even that we had hoped for so we’d be able to customize it. My head is absolutely spinning with ideas and I am beyind excited to get settled into the new house and start some projects!
Here is the exterior of the new house, which we really love and will keep just as it is, other than some landscaping updates (under the tutelage of my very talented brother).
I am beyond thrilled and after looking at houses for basically the past year (some of that time we weren’t seriously looking yet) I am so absolutely sure this is “our” house. I had been waiting for that feeling and hoping I’d have it, and almost immediately felt like, “This is it! This is the THE house.”
I’m sure I’ll be up to my eyeballs in packing these next couple months but can’t wait to take you inside the new house with me and bring you along for the ride as we start making it our own.
