It’s actually been a few weeks since I finished all of the projects in my two year old’s bedroom but I’m just getting around to sharing the finished photos today.
You’ve seen peeks of the projects as I’ve finished them (see below for a full list) but today I’m putting everything in one place, complete with a few photos of my little rascal herself in her “new” room.
Getting her to be still for longer than 2 1/2 seconds proved very challenging :)
I used aqua, coral, and navy blue in various places in Ellie’s bedroom to tie them all together. The aqua is on the walls, the blanket on the bed, and in the gallery wall. The coral shows up big time on the dresser and is echoed across the room on the bed’s accent pillows. I painted Ellie’s old nightstand navy and used the same shade on one of the gallery wall frames.
It’s a super colorful room and has so much energy and life…just like the munchkin who sleeps in it :)
I was working with such a hodgepodge of furniture pieces in here that embracing their differneces and making them look purposefully different – a wood stained bed, navy painted nightstand, and coral painted dresser – actually made the room feel more cohesive than it did before with the bed and nightstand matching and the dresser a lone wolf.
I used liberal sprinkles of gold throughout the room and love the warmth and bit of girly glam it adds.
So, pretty much just in time for us to move, I finished Ellie’s big girl room, but the good news is everything you see here will be coming with us to the next house except the walls! And the part of a new house I’m looking forward to the most is figuring out how everything best fits in the new spaces.
Here are the projects that got me here to this finished room:
